Nowadays, Brazil’s consumption of diesel oil is 44 billions of liters yearly, ranking 16th in among the world´s oil reservations, according to yearly searchings realized by BP company (former British Petroleum).

Due to intense exploration, reservations are being reduced at a fast rate, pushing countries to develop new exploration and search techniques to find out new oil fields.

If new reservations aren´t found out, Earth´s oil will finish before the middle of this century; in the Brazilian´s particular case, such relation corresponds to 17,5 years.

The result of the possible shortage is turned into high oil prices and the low quality of the product used by the final customer in Brazil, because other parts are added, such as naphtha and kerosene, resulting in the product known as Diesel Oil.
